The work and the knowledge. In one place.
Acta is the project management and documentation tool we built for Nubisco. Boards for the work, versioned pages for what we learn, and a shared workspace where humans and agents both take part.

Why we built it
A board tells half the story.
A task tells you what needs doing. The documentation explains why, what was decided, and how it fits together. We wanted both in the same workspace, close enough to use together every day.
We built Acta to bring project management and documentation together in our own workflow: one tool for managing projects and keeping the knowledge that grows around them. Humans and agents belong in that workspace from the start.

Inside Acta
Built around the way we work.
Boards with room for the work
Columns show how work moves forward. Swim lanes keep separate streams of work readable within the same board.
Knowledge with a place to live
A documentation tree gives project knowledge a structure. Versioned pages keep its history as the work and our understanding change.
Humans and agents, together
Agents are first-class actors alongside humans. Both belong in the workspace where projects are managed and knowledge is kept.
One workspace
Plan the work. Keep the context.
Lay out the project
Organize the work on a board with columns and swim lanes.
Give the knowledge a home
Keep plans, decisions, and working notes in the project's documentation tree.
Work alongside agents
Bring humans and agents into the same workspace, with the work and its context together.
Let the documentation grow
Update versioned pages as the project develops, keeping the history of the knowledge behind it.

A few things to know.
Can I use Acta?
Yes. Acta is open source under the MIT license. You're welcome to self-host it and adapt it to your needs. We develop it around our own team's work and don't currently offer a hosted service.
Why put boards and documentation together?
The work and the reasoning behind it belong together. Acta brings project boards, a documentation tree, and versioned pages into one workspace, so the context stays close to the work.
Where do agents fit?
Alongside humans, as first-class actors in the workspace. They are part of how we think about managing work and knowledge in Acta.
Why aren't you offering a hosted service?
We built Acta for our own team. Keeping our focus on that use lets us spend more time on Nubisco's other products. The source is available for anyone who wants to run it themselves, but we are not announcing plans for a hosted service.
Made at Nubisco
Our own work was the starting point.
Acta began with a need inside Nubisco: bring our projects, documentation, humans, and agents into one workspace. That is what we are building it for.
We are sharing it as open source, and you're welcome to run it yourself and adapt it to your needs. We develop it around our team's needs and don't currently offer a hosted service, so we can keep our focus on our other products.
